I don't think I agree with your partner, though, about you "only" being mad because you fell for Hozier's marketing. You could be upset with him over that, but the fact remains that the other things you said about him are still true; he wasn't just letting YOU down, he was failing the moral litmus test after having profited off an image of doing otherwise.
